Every part worn tyre meets the Motor Vehicle Tyres (Safety) Regulations 1994:
- At least 2 mm of tread, full breadth and circumference.
- Stamped "PART-WORN" in capitals at least 4 mm high.
- Valid E-mark, load index and speed rating.
- No cuts, bulges, tears or exposed cord.
- Any repair done to the relevant British Standard.

Questions we get asked
Do you only fit tyres?
No. We are a full garage, not just a tyre bay. As well as new and part worn tyres we do MOTs, servicing, brakes, clutches, gearboxes, timing belts, exhausts, suspension, batteries, diagnostics, auto electrical faults, misfuel recovery and general mechanical repairs.
Are you open on Sundays?
Yes. We are open seven days a week, including Sunday from 10:00 to 16:00. Most other garages in Huddersfield are closed at the weekend, so Sunday is a good day to get those jobs done.
Do I need to book?
For tyres, puncture repairs and free checks you can drive in. For MOT, servicing and bigger jobs it's best to call ahead so we can set aside the time and get the parts in.
Are part worn tyres safe?
Yes, when they are sold properly — and that is the only way we sell them. Every part worn tyre we fit has at least 2 mm of tread, is stamped "PART-WORN", carries a valid E-mark, load index and speed rating, has no structural damage, and any repair has been done to the relevant British Standard.
What's the legal tyre tread depth in the UK?
The legal minimum is 1.6 mm across the central three quarters of the tread, around the whole circumference. Below that is an MOT failure and a fine of up to £2,500 plus three penalty points per tyre. Most manufacturers suggest replacing at around 3 mm.
